Brief of Xiaoshan Museum

Located in Xiaoshan District (the settlement of Majiabang culture about 8000 years ago, and one of the birthplaces of Chinese porcelains) and adjacent to two ancient temples – Jiangsi and Zhiyuansi, Xiaoshan Museum is a comprehensive museum of great historical importance.

With its name written by Qigong (one of Chinese notable calligraphists), Xiaoshan Museum was opened to the public in 1999. With an area of 8,000 square meters, Xiaoshan Museum contains more than 4,000 pieces of cultural relics, most of which are prehistoric artifacts, porcelains, jade artifacts, paintings and calligraphy, with porcelain, paintings and calligraphy being its notable features.
