Falling in Love with Autumn

2017-06-27
Autumn, a season brandishing gold, orange and reddish hues, is for much of the world one of the most beautiful seasons to follow a sweltering hot summer. This is certainly the case for Hangzhou. Boasting spectacular scenery throughout the year, this most vibrant city offers its visitors many a place in which to fall in love with autumn.

White Pagoda Park

Located at the banks of Qianjiang River, the White Pagoda Park is the original site of Hangzhou's first railway station and also the home of the historical White Pagoda which dates back to the late period of Wuyue Kingdom during the Five Dynasties (907-960). In autumn, travelling by an old-fashioned train through the park's golden ginkgo forest is what fairy tales are made of.

Changle Forest Farm

Changle Forest Farm is a natural forest farm enjoying a wide variety of tall trees like the camphor tree, Chinese torreya, maple tree and Chinese fir which, with their flame-red, golden-yellow and verdant leaves, could paint a brightly colored oil painting of autumn. Walking along the forest paths, covered in a carpet of fallen leaves, certainly give you a full sense of autumn.
